Summer Soccer Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ | FAQ | FAQ | FAQ

Here are a few answers to the most common questions about Summer Soccer. (updated 4/29/09)

Q. Is this a soccer Camp? How is it different?

A. No. This is a recreational program of games and practices that extends throughout the summer. Players will be divided into teams that will practice and compete much like a "lite" version of the travel program, except without the travel. A camp is more focused on more intensive skills development over a shorter period, typically one week. The summer program combines a more relaxed schedule of training with 8 games in friendly competition with other summer league teams. ASA is sponsoring a soccer camp the week of August 22 to August 26 in conjunction with Massachusetts Premier Soccer (MPS). MPS offer a unique camp experience, priding themselves on the high quality of staff and curriculum. All MPS male and female camp staff are licensed coaches from the United Kingdom.  Click HERE for more information on the ASA / MPS Camp.

Mass Youth Soccer has developed and produced an outstanding video focusing on the issues of sideline behavior of adults, and specifically on how that behavior is affecting the retention of qualified referees. While many have talked about the issue of adult sideline behavior, Mass Youth is the only organization to turn the talk into a valuable tool that teams, towns, clubs and leagues can put into immediate use to help curb unwanted noise along the sidelines.
