Summer Coaches Online Registration

FAQ | Summer Soccer

Greetings Coaches Past, Present and Future!

Hard to believe after all the winter-like weather we've been having, but our summer soccer program is just around the corner, and we're asking for your help. Approximately 500 children played in the program last year, and we owe this success to your participation. The league simply wouldn't exist without volunteers like you!  If you are interested in volunteering as a coach this year, here's how to do it:

Step 1, Register to Coach

ASA uses an online registration system for both players and coaches called SportsPilot. If you have registered in Sportspilot before,

1.      Go to https://www.sportspilot.com/login/GETEXTERNALUSER.asp? ,

2.      select “Login as Coach / Manager / Assistant Coach”,

3.      click “Login”, then click “Register” and fill out the required information.

If you have not registered through Sportspilot before,

1.      Go to https://www.sportspilot.com/Register/RegASO.asp?ASOID=105583&BordersOff=&Method=New

2.      Select the appropriate program (Season you wish to register for) Select the age group you wish to coach for,

3.      Select the "Unassigned Coach Registration".

When you reach the end of the process you will be brought to the Transaction Screen. Select "Submit Registration by Alternate Payment" then Payment Type "Coaches Registration- No Payment Required". Once we get the rosters set up, you will be able to return to the website and view your roster, send your team emails, etc. We will cover more on this at the Coaches Meeting. If you are unable to register online at SportsPilot for any reason, just let me know.

Step 2, Email me your Information - This is Important!

Please send me a quick email indicating the age group you wish to coach, the name of your child(ren) you will be coaching!  Please note that if you have completed a CORI form through MYSA you don not have to complete a new one unless you have a new address. If this is your first time coaching with us, also include a brief description of your playing and coaching experience. IMPORTANT: PLEASE INDICATE YOUR PREFERRED PRACTICE NIGHT AND TIME SLOT (5p-6p, 6p-7p, 7p-8p)! Summer League practices are run one night during the week for one hour.  We do not schedule U6 or U8 practices in the 7p-8p slot.

Step 3, Get Licensed! (mandatory for Youth Volunteers)

Massachusetts Youth Soccer is now offering the coaching license G Course online at :
http://www.massyouthcoachingcourse.org/ . We strongly recommend that all of our coaches hold at least this basic license, and getting one doesn’t get any easier than this. We'll even reimburse the $35 course fee. Just send me the course completion certificate with your mailing address and ASA will send you a check. Youth Volunteers need to complete this course to be eligible for a Summer League coaching position. Yes, even if you coached last summer…

Step 4, Attend the Pre-Season Coaches' Meeting

Tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 1stat the Cashman Elementary School cafeteria from 6:30p to 7:30p. We will be handing out the rosters and other important information, answering questions, etc.

If you know anyone else that might be interested, please pass this along or send me their contact info! If you received this email and do NOT plan on coaching this year, please let me know and I'll remove you from the list. Or, if you received this message but would like to change the email address to which Summer League messages are received, let me know and I'll edit the contact list.

If you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them.  We also have other volunteer opportunities available - just send Chris Holmes, our Summer League Director, an email at holmessoccer@gmail.com and he'll fill you in.  Thank you all in advance for helping make this league a success. We look forward to seeing you soon.
