We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your work in making the league a success again this year. For the past few years we've held an end of the season Coaches' Game and Cookout event as a way to show our appreciation. This year (the 4th Annual!) we will hold the event on Sunday, August 22nd at 11am. Bring your kids, friends, friends of friends, or anyone who's ever heard of this game they call soccer. All skill levels welcomed!!

We (and by "we" I mean Bob Hazelwood) will be grilling burgers and dogs. It's a lot of fun - we hope you can join us!

Run4Fun’s mission is to introduce the sport of running to children grades 3-8 and teach them how to stay healthy through running. We promote self-esteem, confidence, self-improvement and teamwork through our program but our top priority is let kids have fun and create a running habit for the rest of their lives.

Similar to prior seasons, ECYSA will conduct a meeting for NEW coaches to ECYSA on August 31, at the Danvers Polish Club. This meeting will take place in the main function hall of the Polish Club (main entrance). Coaches should plan to check in between 7:00 – 7:30 PM (we will have Spring Handbooks for coaches to review) and the meeting will start promptly at 7:30. While this meeting is voluntary, it is strongly recommend for NEW coaches, those without any prior coaching experience in ECYSA, to attend. The meeting is a great opportunity for new coaches to become familiar with the operating procedures of the league and ask questions. Over the years, we have found that this meeting has great benefit to help coaches to understand their requirements in coaching within ECYSA.

The Danvers Polish Club is located at 12 Cheever Street, Danvers, 01923. Directions can be obtained from the ECYSA web site (ww.ecysa2.org), MAP section under the Danvers page. Parking is limited, so car pooling is highly recommended.

Fall 2010 U6/U8 Week 1

Start Date: The Development Program begins Saturday, September 18th. We will be on the upper field at Woodsom Farm. U6 (children 4 & 5) will play from 8:15 - 9:15. U8 (children 6, 7, 8) will play from 9:30 - 10:30.
Gear: Children should bring the following each week:

size 3 soccer ball
shin pads
water bottle
cleats are optional
layered clothing (such as t-shirts and fleeces) is recommended as the fields can be cool in the fall mornings.
